Bookmark Quick Tip: Color Scheme Designer

Just a little heads up for you, when working with colors.

I won't go into color theory here, but when you look for color-combinations for your current project, you can help yourself by using a color scheme designer directly in your browser. You definetly should have one of those in your bookmarks.

The one I showed here let's you combine colors according to certain theories (mono, complement, triad, tetrad, analogic, accented analogic).

You can choose your colors while having color-blindness or other seeing disabilities in mind (thinking of barrier-free webdesign).

It even lets you swith between modes (RGB, web, etc., ...), randomizes palettes, gives you a possible preview of the colors in a web-project and saves your finished swatches as handy files for your applications or HTML/CSS.

Nice.

OSX Quick Tip: Cleaning your Font Cache

Hey guys,

I have one quick tip for you. Something I just found out myself lately.

Do you have problems with the text-tool in your graphic applications?
I had problems when initializing (shortcut pressing T) in photoshop. The whole application slowed down immediately. Further, there weren't previews of my installed fonts available in the drop-down menu. Working with text wasn't fun anymore.

If you experience this or other problems (f.ex. fonts displayed messed up) , you may want to clean the font-cache from time to time.

There are several little-helpers out there, that will help you with that.

I can recommend FONT FINAGLER (Mac OSX).

Okay, it's shareware and you just have limited amount of uses before it asks you to purchase the full-licensed version. But I guess it's a good thing.

Check out this instruction on how to clean your fontcache, and what else this little helper can do.

Anyway, to see if it can solve your problems, give it a try.

My version of Photoshop is working again greatly after that!

Hope somebody can find this helpful.

Music Video: A Livid Sky – Luna/Sand of Time

Spontaneous Live-Video I did for my friends in A Livid Sky. The challenge was that I was the only person filming. I ended up editing the whole gig into that video. Please don't be too harsh about the pictures being out of sync here and there.

Filmed with a Canon 550D, F1.8 50mm

Edited in Adobe Premiere Pro

2013: Developments

I decided to finally start working on an application portfolio.

I'll keep you updated on the progress …

Update April 2013:
First steps are made - resumes have been sent out for an apprenticeship!
I am so excited about the job interviews in the following weeks. I think I am finally on the righ track with my occupational decisions.

I wanted to stay in a regular appointment. Learn and work at the same time is the best practice, I guess.

Update April 2013 - 2:
I was lucky enough to get the apprenticeship I was hoping for! I will move in August and start learning at one of the best agencies in bavaria. I am really excited!

London ’11

LONDON, AUGUST 2011

I really like the british weather, unlike most people I know. Anyway, it was my second trip to London, which is a very inspiring place for me. Hope you enjoy my snapshots.
